My name is David Burling and I am standing for election in the Lincolnshire County Council elections in May 2025.

I work as a Performance Manager for a large firm, managing the performance of over £3 billion of investment in capital infrastructure for the region.

In my spare time I am a community activist and a school governor. I am married with 3 grown up children.

It is now time for grown up politics in Grantham

For months now we have seen arguments and personality clashes playing out in public and on social media. Complaints upon complaints; censures handed out; no-one involved prepared to admit that their behaviour falls below what is expected.

All the while the big issues remain unresolved.

Building an environment where services are improved, where all businesses can thrive, where your elected representatives are professional and competent needs a mature approach. Bringing people together, even if we disagree, to find a way forward.

My experience in the private and voluntary sectors brings these skills to the table. I have a history of building great performance, bringing communities together, finding common ground amongst the strongest of personalities.

During this election, I will show you what I can do and I ask for you to have an open mind into what can be possible. As a Labour Party candidate I am proud of my values, it is what makes me the man I am. However that does not mean I do not listen.

Other candidates will make out that as a Party candidate, I am not trustworthy, I will not put the needs of the community first, and I will not speak my mind. This is simply not true.

I ask you to vote for me in Grantham East precisely because you can trust me. I will put your needs first and I will tell you (and others) exactly what I think. That is what adults do.
